Use GitHub Copilot to manage your Teetrack time tracking with 35 MCP tools — right from your IDE.

Connect Teetrack to GitHub Copilot via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Track time, manage projects, and log hours without leaving your editor or Copilot chat.

How to connect

Step 1: Use the hosted Teetrack server

Copy the hosted MCP server address. The server defines 35 tools; your OAuth permissions determine which tools your connection can use.

Step 2: Add an MCP connection in GitHub Copilot

Add a custom remote MCP server in GitHub Copilot using this URL. Follow the setup guide linked below for the client configuration.

Step 3: Authorize your Teetrack account

Sign in to Teetrack in your browser and review the requested OAuth permissions. You can revoke the connection later in Teetrack.

Step 4: Verify the connection with a project lookup

Ask GitHub Copilot to list your Teetrack projects. Then start a timer for an existing project and check the entry in Teetrack.

  • Track time without leaving the editor: Start and stop timers, log time entries, and check your tracked hours — all through Copilot Chat in VS Code or your preferred editor.
  • Context-aware time logging: Copilot knows what code you are working on. Ask it to log time on the project you are currently editing for faster, more accurate entries.
  • Quick project and report queries: Ask Copilot for your weekly summary, project breakdown, or remaining budget without switching to the Teetrack web interface.
  • Manage projects and clients from your IDE: Create new projects, update client details, or check billable totals — all through conversational commands in Copilot Chat.

Do I need to install a local server?

No. Connect GitHub Copilot to https://teetrack.it/api/mcp and authorize your Teetrack account. This connection requires no npm package or self-hosted server.

What data does GitHub Copilot receive?

GitHub Copilot receives the results of authorized tool calls. Review the permissions before authorizing and your AI provider's data terms. You can revoke access in Teetrack.

Is MCP included in the Free plan?

Yes. MCP is included in every Teetrack plan. Your plan features and limits still apply; billing and budgets require Business or above.

Can I still use the web interface?

Yes. Use GitHub Copilot for quick actions and the Teetrack web interface to review entries, reports, and settings.
