Invoice Amount Calculator

If you qualify under §19 UStG, you are exempt from charging VAT — set the tax rate to 0 and add the note "Kein Ausweis von Umsatzsteuer, da Kleinunternehmer gemäß §19 UStG" to your invoice. Once your annual revenue exceeds €22,000 the exemption lapses and you must charge the standard 19% (or 7% for reduced-rate goods and services).

Before tax. The calculator subtracts your discount from the subtotal first, then applies the tax rate to the reduced amount. This is standard EU practice: VAT is charged on the actual consideration received, not the list price.

Set the tax rate to 0. Under the EU reverse-charge mechanism (§13b UStG in Germany), you issue a net invoice and your client accounts for VAT in their own country. Add the mandatory note "Steuerschuldnerschaft des Leistungsempfängers" to the invoice.
