Trello Time Tracking — Use Teetrack Alongside Trello
Turn Trello cards into time entries without losing context.
Teetrack does not have a native Trello integration, but you can use both tools in a complementary workflow to connect task progress with accurate time records.
Requirements
- A Trello account with boards organized by project or client
- A Teetrack account
How to Connect
Step 1: Mirror your Trello board structure in Teetrack
Create projects and tasks in Teetrack that match your Trello boards and lists so time entries map clearly to cards.
Step 2: Keep Teetrack open while working through cards
When you pick up a Trello card, switch to Teetrack and start a timer on the matching task. Stop it when you move the card.
Step 3: Use card titles as entry descriptions
Copy or reference the Trello card title in your Teetrack time entry description so reports are readable without switching tools.
Step 4: Compare boards against timesheets weekly
At the end of the week, check which Trello cards moved to Done and verify they have corresponding time in Teetrack. Fill gaps before invoicing.
What you can do
- Link task progress to tracked hours: Trello shows what got done. Teetrack shows how long it took. Together they give clients and managers a complete picture.
- Spot underestimated work: When a card that should take one hour consistently takes three, your Teetrack data reveals it. This helps with future estimates and pricing.
- Keep billable and non-billable work separate: Use Trello labels or lists to mark billable cards and mirror that structure in Teetrack so your invoices only include actual client work.
